TWIN CITIES (BOOK ONE) - SUMMARY

Book One follows NaSheng, an innocent yet tough young woman from the rural backwaters of China. Escaping her war-torn home, she attempts to make her way to the land of Eden, a place she believes to signify hope and prosperity. She travels alongside a ragtag group of refugees, including SuMo, a mysterious, distrustful puppet-master with strange powers. The path to Eden is fraught with danger, and NaSheng is soon left to fend for herself. While running for her life, she stumbles upon a severed arm, adorned with a magical ring and frozen in ice. Left with no other choice, NaSheng frees the arm, which reveals itself to belong to the former Crown Prince of Eden. The Prince sends NaSheng on a quest to restore his power by retrieving his remaining limbs. But her act has not gone unnoticed; the mysterious Overlord, ruler of Eden, will stop at nothing to maintain his iron grip on power. Meanwhile, an unlikely alliance forms between two former enemies, the enslaved Selachii race and the erstwhile rulers of Eden. Together as the Sky Alliance, they wage war against the evil Overlord, who has controlled the land of Eden for the past century. The story climaxes in an epic battle between the new Alliance and the Overlord’s forces, resulting in intense violence and bloodshed. NaSheng survives and continues her quest to uncover the additional missing body parts. SuMo escapes as well. As part of the uneasy Alliance, SuMo begins on a path to free his people.
