Danny Bergeron - Producer
Danny Bergeron is considered to be one of the true pioneers in the production of computer animation in Quebec. He began exploring this facet of animation over twenty years ago. He was head animator, director and producer on many films and animated series. Numerous independent film, TV, and advertising markets have sought his creative talent and expertise on countless projects. Throughout his career, Danny Bergeron has directed several animated films, primarily in the advertising medium and produced and/or coproduced several animated series. His work has been nominated at Cannes, Annecy, as well as for the Promax and BDA Awards. Danny co-founded Syon Media in March 2002 and later founded Mokko Studio in 2003, a Montreal-based animation and effects studio. As president of Mokko Studio Danny has VFX produced an impressive amount of Hollywood movies including Jupiter Ascending, X-MEN: Days of The Future Past, White House Down, Chronicle of Riddick, The Fountain and Across the Universe to name a few. Danny is a member of the QFTC (Québec Film and Television Council) and the VES (Visual Effects Society-LA).
Andrew Mason - Producer
Andrew Mason is a producer with more than 30 years of industry experience in film and television production. He produced New Line’s kafkaesque thriller Dark City in 1998, directed by Alex Proyas. Between 1998 and 2003 he served as producer or executive producer for a string of US studio pictures including the Waschowski brothers’ The Matrix and it’s sequels, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions, as well as Red Planet, Scooby Doo, Queen of the Damned, and Kangaroo Jack. During this period he established City Productions to develop and produce Australian films, including Swimming Upstream (2001) and Danny Deckchair (2003). Mason has spent time in Romania producing TriStar’s horror thriller Cave and in Canada for French director Christophe Gans’ film Silent Hill. In 2009/10 after an extended period in Paris, Mason produced writer Stuart Beattie’s directorial debut Tomorrow When the War Began.
In 2011, Mason established Hopscotch Features in partnership with fellow producer Troy Lum and writer John Collee, and under that banner has produced Adore (2013) starring Naomi Watts and Robin Wright from French director Anne Fontaine – a co production with Philippe Carcassone of Cine@; I, Frankenstein, again with writer/director Stuart Beattie, and in partnership with Lakeshore ; served as Exec Prod on the Disney picture Saving Mr Banks starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson ; and produced the recently released The Water Diviner, Russell Crowe’s diretcorial debut.
Mason has served in a number of official roles including Deputy Chair on the board of the Screen NSW, the
board of the Sydney Film Festival, and the Council of Australian Film Television & Radio School.
John Collee - Screenwriter
John Collee is a celebrated novelist, screenwriter and producer and has been working in the international film industry for over twenty-five years. He has lent his talents to a number of critically-acclaimed projects including the Oscar-winning Happy Feet, the award-winning Master and Commander, the 3-D animated feature Walking with Dinosaurs, the Mongolian epic Wolf Totem and Russell Crowe’s directorial debut The Water Diviner. John currently has two projects in production and oversees Hopscotch Features as its Creative Director.
